Services
Everyone has natural strengths. My approach builds on what's already working in your life while helping you make meaningful changes in the areas where you feel stuck. I'll provide guidance and support, but your insights, experiences, and goals will shape the direction of our work together. Together, we'll create realistic, personalized goals that reflect what matters most to you.
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, but you don't have to do it alone. My goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where you feel comfortable being yourself—where you can talk openly, feel heard, and know you'll be met with compassion rather than judgment.
Individual Adult Therapy Frees You in Unexpected Ways
Individual therapy offers a supportive space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we'll explore what's holding you back, build on your strengths, and help you move toward a more fulfilling life.
Because every person's journey is unique, I tailor therapy to your needs and goals. Whether you're seeking support for a specific challenge or longer-term healing and personal growth, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you.
Through Individual Therapy, you can:
Gain deeper self-understanding and insight
Heal from past experiences and develop healthier coping skills
Strengthen relationships through better boundaries and self-care
Build confidence and create lasting, meaningful change
Set realistic goals that align with the life you want
You don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. I'm here to help you find greater clarity, resilience, and purpose.
Are you ready for a new journey that will hold space for you to be exactly where you are at this moment with patience, warmth, and acceptance?
Is it time to let go of old patterns, heal from the past, and move forward with greater clarity and purpose?
Couples Therapy Transforms Your Relationship
Do you keep trying the same things that aren’t working in your marriage?
Do you feel stuck, unfulfilled, unsupported, and lonely in your marriage?
Are you going through a life transition and just need a little extra support, but don’t want to do it alone?
Couples therapy can help you:
Gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your partner, and the role you each play in your relationship
Clarify your needs, longings, and hopes—and learn to express them openly
Strengthen conflict resolution skills, communication, trust, and emotional connection
Prioritize your relationship and create a more satisfying partnership
Relationships can be deeply rewarding, but they can also be challenging. Finding the right balance between independence and connection isn't always easy. When communication breaks down, conflict becomes repetitive. When trust is broken, it's easy to feel insecure, anxious, or disconnected.
Healthy relationships require more than love—they thrive through communication, empathy, trust, and a willingness to grow together.
For more than 20 years, I've helped couples strengthen their connection, repair trust, and navigate life's challenges using evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Together, we will:
Rebuild trust and heal after betrayal
Strengthen emotional intimacy and communication
Foster empathy, understanding, and forgiveness
Navigate life transitions and relationship stress
Create healthier patterns for lasting connection
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique relationship. Whether you're struggling through a difficult season, considering separation, or simply wanting to deepen your connection, I'm here to help you move forward together.
Support for New Parents Helps You in the Overwhelm
Are you wondering if you may be experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety?
Do you feel misunderstood by your partner or overwhelmed by your new responsibilities?
Becoming a parent—through birth or adoption—is a major life transition. While it can be joyful and meaningful, it often also brings stress, exhaustion, identity shifts, and strain on your relationships. Many parents experience anxiety, frustration, role confusion, or a loss of identity during this transition.
Working with an experienced couples and family therapist can help support you as you adapt to parenthood.
Our work may focus on:
Building realistic self-care routines
Strengthening confidence and emotional well-being as a parent
Assessing and addressing postpartum depression and anxiety
Reducing isolation and pressure to be a “perfect” parent
Improving communication and teamwork in your relationship
Understanding child development and practical parenting strategies
Supporting your relationship through couples therapy when needed
You don’t have to navigate this stage alone. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, supported, and confident as you grow into parenthood.
Family Therapy Heals Many Different Parts
Do you feel misunderstood or stuck in ongoing conflict with your teenager, sibling, or parent?
Have difficult conversations been avoided for too long?
Family life can be both deeply rewarding and incredibly challenging. Whether you're facing conflict, estrangement, loss, aging parents, chronic illness, adolescence, or emotional distance, family struggles can leave you feeling confused, frustrated, angry and alone.
Family therapy provides a supportive space to:
Work through conflict
Improve communication
Move from disconnection toward shared understanding and closeness
I specialize in helping families strengthen relationships so that each person feels heard, valued, and supported. My approach draws from evidence-based models tailored to your family’s unique needs, including:
Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT)
ABFT is designed for families with teens experiencing depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts. It focuses on rebuilding trust, reducing conflict, and strengthening parent–teen relationships. Research shows ABFT can reduce feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, and family stress while improving emotional connection.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT helps families understand underlying emotional needs and offers healthier ways to connect. If your family is enduring a difficult time, EFT can help break negative cycles and rebuild stronger emotional bonds.
Structural Family Therapy (SFT)
SFT looks at family roles, boundaries, and interaction patterns to create healthier structure and balance. The goal of SFT is to strengthen relationships while improving flexibility, communication, and overall family functioning.
Each session is tailored to your family’s unique needs and focuses on building skills such as:
Empathy and understanding
Insight into patterns and dynamics
Effective listening and reflecting
Healing past hurts
Conflict resolution and problem-solving
Respect, tolerance, and healthy boundaries
Understanding different stages of development
Whether your family is navigating a major transition or simply wanting to improve communication and connection, I’m here to help guide you toward a stronger, healthier relationship.
Professional Supervision Enhances Your Knowledge
Do you need to accrue several hours for licensure?
Are you interested in Couples or Family work?
I have been fortunate to learn from extremely skilled and supportive supervisors who have shaped my clinical expertise and the therapeutic approaches I use today. A strong connection with a clinical supervisor is an important part of self-discovery and professional growth.
An effective supervisor not only listens well but also helps anticipate the skills and interventions you may need at different points in your development.
Whether you are simply working toward licensure or deepening your training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, I bring both the training I received from my mentors and over 25 years of independent clinical experience.
Below is an abbreviated list of topics we may work through together:
Diagnostic considerations and understanding mental health conditions
Attachment-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Using mindfulness to slow reactivity and manage automatic thoughts
Appropriate use of self-disclosure in clinical work
Termination and ending treatment well
When and how to refer clients to other providers
Determining which cases are appropriate for your scope of practice
I enjoy training developing clinicians and will help you think in systems-based, evidence-informed frameworks as you grow into the therapist you want to be.
Divorce Support Group
Do you feel alone as you begin a new chapter in life?
Do friends or family who are partnered seem unable to understand what you’re going through?
Would it help to hear how others have navigated this same transition?
I periodically offer support groups for men and women going through separation and divorce.
When a marriage ends, it can be painful, relieving, frightening, and sometimes even hopeful. Whether or not children are involved, this transition can be one of the most devastating loss a person experiences.
Many people experience conflicting feelings about ending a relationship due to strong attachments, shared history, family ties, and fear about the future. Moving forward can feel overwhelming, whether the divorce was unexpected or you were the one who chose to end the relationship.
Support during this time can help you process emotions such as anger and grief, reduce isolation, and navigate the transition with greater clarity and care.
